Football in the spring still a possibility, says USA's athletics director

Joel Erdmann, director of athletics at the University of South Alabama, still has high hopes that the Jags will play a full 12-game schedule this falls. But he's not ruling out the possibility of playing games in the spring as a backup plan.

The Jags are now looking for an opponent to open Hancock Whitney Stadium after the SWAC announced it would not play games this falls. South Alabama's home openers was scheduled to be against Grambling State.
