Former ref Jerry McGee recounts funny stories of Pat Dye and weedeaters

Jerry McGee officiated 404 college football games, including 20 postseason bowls. So, naturally, he has some tales to tell. McGee, along with his sons Sam and Ryan (of ESPN fame), recounts many of those stories in the just-released book titled Sidelines and Bloodlines, A Father, His Sons and Our Life in College Football.

He joined Sports Talk 99.5 Tuesday to discuss Pat Dye, calling two Army-Navy games and the most interesting gift anyone ever received for officiating a bowl game.
