Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up: Don't apologize for winning

Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up

Ohio State was already leading Nebraska 45-17 in the Big Ten opener for both teams.

The game had been competitive for a while, but now the Buckeyes, who were favored by 28 points in some circles, were in complete control.

With 25 seconds left in the game and the play clock about to expire, they faced fourth and 1 from the Nebraska 2. They had to snap the ball.

They didn’t have to tack on another touchdown, which is what they did when backup quarterback Jack Miller ran up the middle.

Afterwards, Ohio State coach Ryan Day apologized for the late score, offering some excuse about having the wrong personnel in the game.

The score wasn’t the problem. The apology was.

Day needs to Tighten Up and realize that the proud Nebraska Cornhuskers don’t need anyone feeling sorry for them.

One day Nebraska will be back. Until then, they will just have to accept their 35-point beating.

For Threaded Fasteners I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up.
