Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game: Bama and the rest in the SEC

Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game

The Florida Gators are rested and ready for a game that has no national championship implications.

An Alabama win in the SEC Championship Game is going to send the Tide into the College Football Playoff while the Gators will still find their way into a New Year’s Six Bowl.

A Florida win won’t keep Alabama out of the playoff. It would simply mean the Tide was not the No. 1 seed. And Florida? Still on the outside of the playoff picture.

Dan Mullen guaranteed that by treating the LSU game like a preseason game. The loss further illustrated the gap between Alabama and everyone else in the SEC.

The Tide is very likely going to end Saturday with an 11-0 SEC record. No other SEC team won more than eight games this year. The closest competition, Texas A&M, went 8-1 but lost by 28 to the Tide.

But while the gap between Alabama and the rest of the league continues to widen success in the regular season is not the standard by which Alabama is measured. Now is when the season either becomes a success or a failure.
