Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up: Let your play speak for itself

Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up

There were exactly two Power 5 team that finished this most unusual football season with an undefeated record. Alabama went 11-0 against the 11 best SEC teams. Ohio State went 6-0 in the Big Ten.

For everyone else, there is either a secondary bowl to look forward to, but not before an obnoxious amount of campaigning for a better postseason fate.

Jimbo Fisher of Texas A&M said the Aggies “Absolutely” belong in the playoffs and “we can play with anyone.” The Aggies, of course, already lost by 28 to Alabama.

Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book made the case for the Irish in the playoff because his team “literally just went to war” against Clemson for a second time.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney didn’t have to worry about the Tigers making the playoffs, so he used his platform to campaign for Trevor Lawrence for the Heisman, saying it would “be a crying shame” if Lawrence didn’t win the award.

College sports are really the only place where campaigning for a postseason spot is necessary. Still, it would be nice if the players and coaches would Tighten Up and let their play speak for itself.

For Threaded Fasteners I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up.
