Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up: USA basketball needs to step up their game

Did you know Nigeria had a basketball team? Me neither.

But a Nigerian squad made up of some NBA role players you’ve never heard of and some other guys they probably found at the Lagos YMCA beat the U.S. team Saturday night in Las Vegas.

That’s not a great start to the Olympic summer.

In the last two meetings between the two countries, the U.S. won by 83 in the 2012 Olympics, and by 44 four years later in an exhibition.

The U.S. team is led by players like Kevin Durant, Dame Lillard and Jayson Tatum. They have no business losing a game like this, even if it’s nothing more than a tune-up for the Olympics.

The U.S. team needs to Tighten Up or their trip to Tokyo could be an embarrassment for everyone involved.

For Threaded Fasteners, I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up.
