Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up: Auburn recruiting should focus more in-state

Something is different this year for fans who follow recruiting. For the first time in memory, Auburn and Alabama are not going head-to-head for a single prospect. Not a single one.

Alabama is recruiting nationally and hand-picking the in-state prospects Nick Saban wants to add to the class. Auburn is also looking nationally for talent. But the only in-state prospects the Tigers are pursuing are the ones Alabama has either decided to pass on or may decide eventually there is no room for them.

Auburn seems to be waging more battles with the like of TCU, Illinois and even Central Florida.

Bryan Harsin proved at Boise State he can win with lower-ranked recruits. But the Tigers need to Tighten Up if they want to continue to compete on the field with the best teams in the SEC.

For Threaded Fasteners I’m Randy Kennedy with Tighten Up
