Threaded Fasteners Tighten Up: Olympics should consider a remodel

Here’s what should be the rule for what sports are considered for the Olympics. If the Olympic event is the biggest of the year for every athlete competing, then it can be in the Olympics. If it’s not, then the sport should be left out.

That would mean goodbye to sports like tennis and golf. Xander Schauffele won the golfing gold medal in a close battle. But the event didn’t have the feel of a U.S. Open or Masters. As much as Schauffele wanted to win, he would trade the gold medal in a second for a major title.

The Olympics are supposed to be the pinnacle of sports, not an event that resides somewhere between the majors and the John Deere Classic.

Tighten Up International Olympic Committee and save all the Olympic glory for those who have spent the last four years of their lives fighting for this spotlight.
