Threaded Fasteners Nuts and Bolts of the Game: High school football is back

It’s time for some Friday night lights.

This time last year, the thought was that we might get in a game or two or five before the season was canceled because of COVID-19. This year, though the prognostication is far from perfect, there is more optimism that we’ll get in a full high school football season and crown seven state champions in Birmingham’s new stadium in December.

Williamson and Spanish Fort got off to great starts Thursday night. Both look like state champion contenders.

St. Paul’s was a perfect 15-0 last season. Faith Academy had the best season in school history. And Saraland looked like legitimate contenders all season.

Those teams should again be good this season, as will many others. It’s going to be a fun ride all the way to the Super Seven.

For Threaded Fasteners, I’m Randy Kennedy with Nuts and Bolts of the Game.
