MARDI GRAS TREE LIGHTING- Thurs 5:00pm, Mardi Gras Park, downtown Mobile

The Birthplace of Mardi Gras now boasts the world’s largest Mardi Gras Tree. Mayor Sandy Stimpson and City Council President Levon Manzie will light the Mardi Gras Tree in Mardi Gras Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Festivities have been moved into the History Museum of Mobile at 5:30, due to weather.

The crowd will be treated to music by Blow House Band. Face painters and balloon artists will perform their skills, and Rouses and Toomey’s have donated treats. All are invited to attend. CLICK HERE

MOBILE KING CAKE-OFF - Sat 11:30am-4:30pm, Mobile Government Plaza, downtown Mobile

Enjoy King Cake tastings, kids activities, including face painting and balloon animals, live music, a silent auction and adult beverages. Come for the King Cake and stay for the afternoon parades. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Light of the Village. CLICK HERE  

NIGHT TO SHINE PROM- Fri 6pm-9pm, various local churches: Dayspring Baptist (Mobile), City Hope (Daphne), Restoration Church (Citronelle), Community Life United Methodist (Gulf Breeze), Perdido Bay United Methodist (Pensacola)
